Quotes start out easy on Mondays and get harder as the week goes by. Sundays are always the toughest!
Some clues to start you off: nationality of the author, genre, and year of publication. Each word blank shows how many letters the word contains. Punctuation is revealed at the start, too.
Quote difficulty determines how many points you start with — harder quotes mean more points. Every correct word guess earns +5 points per instance revealed. Wrong guesses cost 5 points. If a word appears more than once, all instances are revealed and each one scores!
Think you know the author or the title? Hit the meta button (m* on mobile) and take your guesses. For authors, you only need the last name. If the name of the character speaking the quote is known, you can guess that too — but you’ll need their full name. The sooner you guess, the bigger the bonus.
Stuck? Hit the hint button (h*) and decide how many points you want to spend. Helpfulness goes up with the cost. If your points reach zero, the game is over and the quote is revealed.
Guess the entire quote and prove you are a true bibliophile! You can always hit the exit button (x*) to reveal the quote and end the game. You’ll see a preview of your final score first — and can always change your mind and return to the game.
Rediscover great literature, rack up points and prizes, track your stats with the data button (d*), and work toward some sweet badges!
